Σύνοψη

This project deals with the construction materials used for
churches, mainly from an architectural point of view.
The project is divided into four chapters:
The first chapter is the "HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE
CONSTRUCTION - MATERIALS USED FOR CHURCHES".
The different periods of architecture are studies, beginning with the period of Greeks until the modern times. The second chapter is the "FORMS OF CHURCHES". Most of the forms are stated, with more emphasis to the two more favourable ones which are used today.The third chapter is the "CYPRUS CHURCHES". It begins with a short outline of the History of Cyprus and continuous with the types and churches constructed in the past and present. The forth chapter is the "RESTORATION -REPAIR OF A CHURCH".
An old church of Ayios Georgios is studied and a proposed
plan is given.
