Σύνοψη

The project objective was to introduce the subject of CAD/CAM with particular emphasis on the effects to the manufacturing productivity of a firm, with respect to
benefits and costs.
In order to understand better the subject of CAD/CAM it is necessary to investigate the different parameters that, when combined form the CAD/CAM concept.
That is why, through the project, an introduction to Fundamentals of computers, a brief analysis to the Hardware and software in computer aided design, an introduction to numerical control fundamentals, and Computer numerical control, where necessary,
since these are the different subjects that constitute the CAD/CAM interface.
In the final chapter of the project, a description of the design and manufacturing operations of a firm, is given as well as an investigation to which area the CAD/CAM
system could be introduced . Finally a feasibility study on one particular area in its operations in which CAD/CAM may be utilized, was carried out.
