Many company's in Cyprus they are detaining many people. Big companies like Cyta, Cyprus Airways are detaining a huge numbers of employees.
Each morning, thousands of cars drive to the city center from the suburbs and then, in the afternoon, drive back. The majority of these vehicles carry a single passenger to work. Some are parents and, also must drive their children to and from school, not to mention all the private lessons. This cause traffic on the roads.
Many problems today can be attributed to traffic. Emotional problems include anger and stress, what with all the hours spent on the road driving toward
a single destination, while physical problems include potential accidents. Of course, we cannot forget the long-term problems created due to the pollution
from gas emissions
1. 1. 1.2 Goals of the system
• To provide a fast and flexible Internet based solution for car pooling schemes.
• To provide on demand transportation for registered users. Transportation will be requested through the proposed web site.
• System's objective is to reduce time and traffic when going to work. It would also, on a smaller scale, reduce road accidents and pollution.
• Those users who share their cars with other employees will get points which can be exchanged for free petrol, insurance etc.
Website will only be accessible to registered users who are employed by the companies who have purchased the system.
• Each user will have different privileges. For example, passengers will only have the rights to poll for a car and select the driver to go to the job.
Another example, are the drivers who may decide to be passengers or at any point decide to exchange their car's credits. The system will of course have a moderator or administrator, the top level of privileges. The moderator manages the whole process, decides on the final listing of which passengers go with which driver, informs the passengers of their driver and vice versa. He will also detail the location of each stop, provide telephone numbers etc.
• After a passenger selects his/her driver, they may not cancel transportation.
