Sports play a larger part in community life today than at any time in the past.Outdoor and indoor facilities are being improved all the time,and the televising of sporting events
has increased people's interest.
This project has been compiled ln an effort to provide modern effective lighting for open space areas and especially for football playgrounds in which floodlights are
mainly used.
The main purpose of this project is to carry out the electrical services and illumination design required for an outdoor football ground area. Such studies are usually being carried out by computer as they require an exhaustive effort and they are very detailed and precisely.The present project Ι has been compiled by the point by point method which needs
a lot of effort, patience and time.
Chapter 1 deals with the basic principles of sports ground illumination such as general requirements and lighting criteria.
Charter 2 examlnes specific recommendations and factors which affect the illuminance value of the floodlighting installation of a football ground.
In Chapter 3 a simplified design method is described and also a complete explanation of the lumen and point by point methods used in such cases.
Chapter 4 deals with the illumination design of the football ground including all the calculated results and tables. The electrical installation of the lighting system is designed in Chapter 5 and estimated in Chapter 6.
