OBJECT:
The objective of this project is the presentation of drawings with the aid of a CAD package. Also there will be a presentation of the CAD package and it will be evaluated.
ABOUT CAD:
CAD are the initials of "Computer Aided Design". The CAD introduced by the International Business Machines Corporation (I.B.M), in 1964.
CAD gives you the opportunity and the possibility to accomplish design and drafting activities using a computer.
The design is a big process of making an idea a reality and an existing fact. This process needs repetitions until the ideal solution is found. The traditionally design demand sketches, drawings, renderings, 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional models, phototypes testing analysis and documentation.
CAD is the tool that can be used for all this procedure and make it easier, cheaper, and timeless. Although CAD offers to the user accuracy, productivity for repetitive operations and the opportunity to sharing the CAD file with other software programs.
The result of CAD activity is usually a drawing generated by a plotter or printer. A drawing model is stored in a cad file. The file consists of numeric data in binary form usually saved to a magnetic or optical device such as diskette, hard disk, or CD.
AutoCAD is one of the CAD programs, which are in the market. It offered to the public in 1992 and it was one of the first PC based CAD software products. Every few years the AutoCAD is updated. Today the last version is the "AutoCAD 2000" but the most known and the one that is more widely used, is the "Auto CAD 14".
AutoCAD 14 is one of the most successful CAD packages. It is not used only by draftsmen but also by engineers, surveyors etc. It can be linked with stability programs, surveying programs and a lot of other different programs. It is widely used in industry.
