Σύνοψη

The main objective of this project was to study the productivity improvement in a Cyprus Industry.
An introduction to basic productivity terms was made at the beginning, as well and some information about air conditioning systems.
Then, major factors contributing to low productivity were analyzed in depth. These are Design and Specifications, Space, Inventory, Labour and Capital.
Furthermore, solutions to the above problems was attempted to be given through a certain model.
At first, management techniques were applied to increase the rate of production. By applying C.P.A. it has been achieved a small increase of production with no additional costs. Then a dramatic increase to the rate of production was achieved by creating an assembly line, for the model under study, and by investing a low level capital for new equipment.
Then B.O.M. and M.R.P. were, applied to the model in order to have better inventory control.
Production Economics have been used in order to estimate the cost of new equipment usage, as well as to estimate the production output required to cover the investment.
In addition, management techniques were applied to give solutions concerning problems such as space and labour.
JIT was proposed as an alternative solution for inventory control.
Finally, in the conclusions a description of the work done and its usage was made.
