My Diploma project has to do with design and construction; it is a construction of a web site dedicated in general to my field of studies, the Electrical Engineering Department.
It is widely accepted that nowadays the easiest and fastest way for someone to retrieve information, is via the Internet (World Wide Web). The Internet is a variety of things. For every individual the Internet has a different meaning.
Someone can use the internet to communicate, or search for information while somebody else could be a designer, etc.
We took the role of the researcher, the designer and constructor, in order to present in a different, more organized and modem way, the facts, the official and unofficial documents, the visions, and the reality of the Electrical Engineering Department in HTI.
We had to our disposal certain data about the department and related work of previous HTI students, the help of my supervisor, and the closest and most related to us instrument, the computer. As a future Electrical and Electronics Engineer, we must declare our loyalty to this simple asset of technology called Personal Computer.
The Computer is without dispute a multi machine which amongst others offers us the ability to complete our project with the aid of software.
The end result of this project is a web site which can be viewed by people in order to retrieve information about the Electrical/Electronics department of HTI according to their needs.
The whole construction of this web site had two concepts: Firstly, it had to do with, collecting, processing, organizing and presenting certain data using also the computer. Secondly, it could satisfy interested parties who may require valuable information about a topic related with HTI.
My project is simple but well constructed in order to supply adequate information to people in need. The coverage of the Electrical Engineering Department meant also the coverage of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), which is analyzed within, the Higher Technical Institute
(HTI) and all the relevant information and facts, the Services and Facilities which imply in HTI and Cyprus, the Electrical Engineering Department in depth, and some other useful information.
Thus, my diploma project hopefully will not only be an assignment for me, but a source with answers and help for others.
