Σύνοψη

This project is concerned with the desing of safety procedures for Metalco (Heaters) industry. The working environment conditions, and equipment are studied and improvements for safer working conditions are given. The machines used in the industry are investigated, new safer conditions are desinged, and suggested improvements are made. Since the role of a Safety Officer is important, procedures and responsibilities are described to be followed by such an Officer. Proper checklists are also given in order to help in the promotion of safer and easier work conditions. In the Chapter of ergonomics an effort is made, to show how working conditions affect pshychologically or bodily a worker and how this can be faced. Finally at the end of the project a cost estimate is performed. This estimation gives the cost for the implementation of the designed safety prcedures. The total cost was found to be £3561. If costed safety procedures are followed, workers will feel more self-confidence and their production rate will be increased. So the management will earn much, from the application of the proposed safety procedures.
