Σύνοψη

The object of this project was to give a general idea about materials used for highway construction, their constituents and their properties. Also it includes some tests for checking if the quality of the product is the one expected.
This project is divided into five chapters:
The first chapter is the "INTRODUCTION".
The second chapter is the "BITUMINOUS MATERIALS". It includes the constituents, the properties, the sources and the requirements of bituminous materials.
The third chapter is the "ASPHALT OR BITUMINOUS CONCRETE PAVEMENTS". It includes the constituents of, and the methods for obtaining nn asphalt or bituminous concrete pavement.
The fourth chapter is the "MINERAL AGGREGATES". It includes the properties, the methods of their production and the tests for obtaining the required quality and strength.
The fifth chapter is the "TESTS". It includes some of the widely used tests for checking the quality of the final product.
